Born in the
Appalachian Mountains of Northern Georgia,
Edwin Johnson began painting as a
teenager and followed a traditional primitive style with his art work. As a young man, he spent time
in California, and traveling through Canada, before eventually settling
in the Missouri Ozarks where
he has made his home. Ed earned his B.A. degree in Art and a B.S. in Education from Missouri
Southern State College at Joplin, MO, in 1987. Ed pursues many interests
including painting, printmaking, composing music, writing children's
stories, jewelry, astronomy, photography, and sculpture. His cabin/art studio in the woods is a beautiful natural setting
where he continues to study art.
